Notice on Further Adjustments to Visas and Entry Policies for Foreigners to China

In order to further facilitate the exchange of Chinese and foreigners, the following adjustments to visas and entry policies for foreigners to China will be effective from March 15, 2023 (00:00 Beijing Time):

1. The entry function of visas issued before March 28, 2020 and within the effective period will be resumed.

2. The Chinese Embassy in Qatar will resume the review and issue of all types of visas for foreigners to China, including visas for tourists. Please refer to the relevant instructions for details.

3. The Chinese port visa authorities will resume the review and issue of all kinds of port visas for legal reasons.

4. Special policies of specific foreigners’ visa-free entry to Hainan province, visa-free entry for cruises to Shanghai, visa-free entry to Guangdong province for foreigner tourist groups from Hong Kong and Macao, and visa-free entry to Guilin, Guangxi for ASEAN tourist groups will be resumed.

Besides, the Chinese Government will accept the virtual APEC Business Traveller Card (ABTC) of foreigners from May 1, 2023 (00:00 Beijing Time). As an interim arrangement, Chinese Embassies and Consulates will provide convenience of those virtual ABTC holders’ visa applications before May 1, 2023.
