On July 17, Ambassador Cao Xiaolin published a signed article titled The Accusation of “Overcapacity” Is Untenable: The Facts and Truth about China's Industrial Policy on the Arabic website of Al Jazeera News Network. The article points out that the argument of some western politicians accusing China of “overcapacity” goes against the basic principles of economics and is a completely untenable fallacy. China's industrial subsidy policy is reasonable and compliant, and its industrial development relies on continuous technological innovation, the improvement of the production and supply chain system, and full market competition, rather than relying on subsidies.

China's large export volume does not mean “overcapacity”, and the hype of “overcapacity” is actually excessive anxiety. Imposing restrictions on China's exports and investment cooperation through labeling will undermine the stability of global trade, investment and production and supply chains. It will not stop China's progress, but will only shoot oneself in the foot.

China is willing to deepen production and supply chain cooperation with countries around the world, including Qatar, to strengthen technological innovation and industrial development, promote inclusive economic globalization, and join hands to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
