Ambassador Cao Xiaolin published a signed article on Al Jazeera Arabic website titled Jointly Promote the Equitable Sharing of AI Development Dividends Worldwide on August 15.

The article notes that amid severe challenges in global AI governance, China's launch of the Global AI Governance Action Plan and proposal to establish the World AI Cooperation Organization (WAICO) represent significant steps in practicing multilateralism and advancing global governance featuring extensive consultation and joint contribution for shared benefit. It is also a practical action to respond to the calls of the Global South for bridging digital and AI divides.

Unlike exclusive initiatives proposed by some countries, the Global AI Governance Action Plan prioritizes equitable development, open cooperation, and effective governance. It advocates an open and inclusive AI governance framework, creating a broad platform for deepening international AI collaboration and promoting AI development featuring AI for good, fairness, and inclusiveness.

The article stresses that as President Xi Jinping put forward at the opening ceremony of the 10th ministerial conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, China will enhance cooperation with Arab countries on AI to make it empower the real economy and to promote a broad-based global governance system on AI. In the era of global digitalization, China stands ready to share opportunities and strengthen cooperation with all countries including Qatar to jointly embrace a promising AI future.
