Visa for Hong Kong SAR of China

1. Citizens of Qatar may travel to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of China visa-free for a short-term visit or for tourism purposes and stay in HKSAR for up to 30  days. 

2. For citizens of other countries, please visit the website of HKSAR Immigration Department at

 (http://www.info.gov.hk/immd/) to see whether visas are needed to go to HKSAR.

3.  Foreign citizens should obtain visas before entering HKSAR if they intend to stay in HKSAR longer than the visa waiver period, or the purpose of visit is to work, take up residence, study or receive training in HKSAR.

4. Applications for visas for HKSAR can be made to Chinese diplomatic or consular missions abroad or directly to the HKSAR Immigration Department. It is up to the applicant to decide which way to apply. Contact information of the HKSAR Immigration Department is (+852-28246111).

5. Requirements for Visas for HKSAR

5.1 Application Form

5.2 Documents Required:

5.2.1 Passport: the original passport with validity period exceeding the holder’s expected stay in HKSAR by more than one month and with blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the passport’s information page

5.2.2 The application form for a visa for HKSAR that has been filled out in a truthful, complete, and accurate manner

5.2.3 One 2-inch, recently-taken, full face, and bare-headed color photo

5.3 Processing Time and Fees

5.3.1 Visas to be processed and issued by the Chinese embassy or consulate:

Regular service: 4 working days, 110 QAR

Express service: 3 working days, an additional fee of 90 QAR   per visa will be charged.

Rush service: 2working days, an additional fee of 132 QAR   per visa will be charged.

5.3.2 For visa applications that need to be referred to the HKSAR Immigration Department, it normally takes 4 weeks.   In addition to the visa fee, an extra 73 QAR will be charged when submitting the application for the communication service.

Visa for Macao SAR of China

1. Please check the visa requirement or visa-free arrangements by visiting the website of Macao SAR Public Security Police Force at http://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/eng/EDoN.html.

2. Citizens of Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam should apply for a visa at Chinese  Embassy in Qatar before entering Macao SAR.

5. Processing Time and Fees

For visa applications that need to be referred to the Macao SAR Public Security Police Force, it normally takes 4 weeks. In addition to the visa fee, an extra 73 QAR will be charged when submitting the application for the communication service.
