Embassy of China in Qatar held a press briefing marking the 80th Anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on September 4^th. Several mainstream media outlets in Qatar including the Gulf Times, the Peninsula, the Qatar Tribune, the New Araby Newspaper, and the Rahbar International attended the event.

Chargé d’Affaires Wang Ying stressed that the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was a vital part of the World Anti-Fascist War. To mark this great victory is to remember history, honor fallen heroes, cherish peace, and create a better future. On September 1st, President Xi Jinping solemnly proposed the Global Governance Initiative (GGI), further contributing China's wisdom and presenting China's solution to strengthen and improve global governance.

China stands ready to work with Qatar to firmly safeguard world peace, strengthen common development and jointly build a community with a shared future for humanity; defend the victorious outcomes of the WWII and uphold the post-war international order, which includes Taiwan’s restoration to China as a crucial component; stay committed to mutual respect and win-win cooperation to advance China-Qatar relations to new heights.
