On May 21, the Ministry of Culture of Qatar held a launch ceremony for the Chinese edition of the This is Qatar book series at the Doha International Book Fair. Chinese Ambassador Cao Xiaolin, Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Culture, H.E. Mr. Nasser Al Malki and other guests attended the event.

This is Qatar Book Series consists of six volumes and provides a comprehensive introduction to Qatar’s history, culture, cities, society, and ecology, offering readers a view of the country’s past and present. Originally written in Arabic, the series has already been translated and published in six languages, while translation work is currently underway in 12 additional languages, including Chinese.

In remarks to the media, Ambassador Cao stated that both China and Qatar have maintained rapid economic development and long-term social stability over the past decades. One important reason, he noted, is that both countries have drawn on the wisdom of their fine traditional cultures in national development. China stands ready to further strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with Qatar, and to enhance people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding between the two countries.
