The Embassy of China in Qatar hosted a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China On September 30. Ambassador Cao Xiaolin attended the event together with around 500 guests, including H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Transport, and senior government officials, representatives from the financial, educational, cultural, military and media sectors, heads of diplomatic missions in Qatar, representatives of Chinese companies, the Chinese community and Chinese students in Qatar.

Ambassador Cao Xiaolin delivered a speech. He reviewed the great historic achievements that has been made over the past 77 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He elaborated on the Four Global Initiatives and President Xi Jinping’s four-point proposal on promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.

He also gave an overview of the achievements of China-Qatar exchanges and cooperation across various fields, and said that China stands ready to work with Qatar to jointly implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, continue to enhance strategic mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and enhance communication and coordination, working together to usher in a more glorious “golden decade” for the China-Qatar strategic partnership.

Guests watched a video showcasing China’s development achievements. The reception was held in a friendly, warm, festive and harmonious atmosphere. Guests spoke highly of the new opportunities that Chinese modernization has created for international cooperation and expressed their wishes for continued progress in China-Qatar relations.
